Cheap Maldives Holidays

Cheap and Maldives Holiday doesn’t exactly go together. Or so I thought.
When I first heard of Maldives, I thought “great honeymoon destination, way out of our budget!”   The turquoise waters that are crystal clear and full of sea life looks like something out of a movie. Overwater bungalows that are so romantic but would definitely put a dent in your wallet...maybe Maldives, “one day”.

Things to do in Helsinki -Helsinki Travel Guide

Looking for Things to do in Helsinki? Well, you've come to the right place!
Oh Helsinki! B and I did an around the world trip from March till May. We started in Lapland Finland and LOVED every day spent there. Since we only had a few months to go around the world, we were on a tight schedule. We flew out of Helsinki but didn’t have time to hang out in the city. So I was way excited when we were invited back to enjoy a week in Helsinki during the midsummer celebration.

Local island Thulusdhoo

There are 2 types of islands you can visit when in Maldives. One is a Resort Island, and is probably the most known of the two... but, there's another island you can visit that will make your stay much cheaper.  Since about 10 years ago, the Maldivian government has allowed local islands to have guest houses so tourists can come to stay there, so that now gives us a budget friendly option for staying in Maldives.

Hotel Inari Lapland, Finland

Our bucket list Lapland trip wasn't quite complete without a stop in Inari.  We enjoyed the ice castle in Kemi, the spectacular Auroras at Northern Lights Village, and relaxed at the beautiful Aurora Village, but we still had to experience some of the Finland Culture in Inari.

The last leg of our trip was at Hotel Inari. We were excited to get there, because it would be the furthest North we were traveling to, so we were looking forward to an awesome Aurora show. And it did not disappoint.

Kemi, the hidden gem in Lapland, Finland

We finally had some time off to take an awesome trip together, so B and I were talking about different trips we could take, and where we wanted to go.  He threw out Finland, and I ran with it.  We had seen the Northern Lights in Iceland about a year and a half before, but if you remember, those were the boring lights.  We still wanted to see the magical green lights dancing in the sky.  We had a small taste on our flight over to Iceland, but it just made me want to see them even more.  So, we started planning our trip to Finland, and quickly decided we would spend our time in beautiful Lapland.

My 30th birthday Celebration in LA

Birthdays have always been a huge thing for me, and my family.  We actually love celebrating birthday months...because just celebrating one day, is obviously not enough.  Personally, I have always been really big on pillar birthdays as well.  I was SOOOO excited to turn 16!  Sweet 16 meant I got my drivers license, was a Jr in high school, and my whole life ahead of me.  18 of course, you become an adult.  21, you're no longer in your teens, and there are barely any restrictions in life (besides renting a car, for the most part), and then there is 30.

The Best of Orlando

We just got back from a 10-day Summer Vacation in Orlando, Florida.  Our family went almost 14 years ago, but our youngest sister was just 4 years old.  Our parents decided to take her back this year, after her high school graduation, and I am not on t pass up a trip, so I tagged along with one find the Best of Orlando.  And I think it was a huge success!

Things to do in Door County, Wisconsin - Sturgeon Bay

Sturgeon Bay is a quaint little county in Northern Wisconsin.  Definitely a change of pace from where I'm from, but boy does it have a lot to offer.

B had a fishing tourney there, and any time he's off on an adventure, I always try to tag along.  I quickly found Sturgeon Bay has so many fun things to do that it would be so much better with a friend.

So I invited my friend who just so happens to be the wife of B's fishing partner for the tournament.  We had a blast!  The downtown area was just as quaint as you'd imagine a small town to be.  Awesome Ma & Pop shops, a great candy store, and beautiful views of the bay.  But don't let that quietness of downtown fool you, Sturgeon Bay knows how to do Summer right!

New Zealand Must Do's

I never knew much about New Zealand, hadn’t heard much about it, and no one really talked about it much.  Until one of my friends stated that it was her ultimate travel destination, and we decided to go for her 30th birthday.  And I am so glad we did.  If I knew everything I now know about New Zealand before I went, I would have bumped this trip up on my vacations bucket list.  New Zealand has far exceeded my expectations, and I cannot wait to go back!

Our Dinner on the “Top of the World”

OK, 3rd top of the world now!  That’s right, we’re talking the Willis Tower (you may know it better as the Sears Tower…formerly the tallest building in the world) in Chicago.  I remember going to the top observation deck 12 years ago, when it was still Sears Tower.  Our youngest sister actually lost her very first tooth up there…it’s a fun family story for all of us.  So I was way excited to go again, now that they have the glass “ledge”.  That would’ve been enough excitement in itself, but did you know you can have a super romantic, (and fairly exclusive), dinner up there?! I had no idea that was a thing and jumped at the opportunity, as soon as I learned of Skydeck’s “Pie in the Sky” event.

Things they don’t tell you about Iceland

We just got back from a winter trip to Iceland, and man, what a fun trip we had.  We also only had 7 days (with flights), so we tried to get everything in that we could.  Lots of research went into planning our trip, and we decided to stick to the west and south ends of the island.  But you always learn way more being there than you do hearing about it, so we collected our info of  "Things No One Tells You About Iceland", and wanted to share with you!
