Date Ideas In Anaheim, California

1. Watch fireworks above the Sleeping Castle in Disneyland

The city is home to Disneyland and its sister park Disney California Adventure. Most people know these parks as the happiest places on Earth, but when it comes to romance, they’re also pretty magical.

The Sleeping Beauty Castle is the icon of Disneyland and the perfect place to watch the fireworks show. The castle is one of the tallest structures in any Disney theme park and offers a view of all of the fireworks shows.

2. Stay at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa

Enjoy a night away at one of the grandest hotels in the area (it’s especially delightful during Christmas!) The hotel is styled with elegant decor and rustic architecture so it makes for an unforgettable experience.

There are 3 pools on-site as well as the Tenaya Stone Spa where you can get a massage or facial or just relax as you enjoy some quiet time together.

There’s also a fitness center where you can work out in style before heading out for dinner at any number of restaurants nearby or inside the hotel for some California cuisine.

3. Cheer for your favorite team at the Angels Stadium

Catch a game at Angel Stadium of Anaheim, home of the Los Angeles Angels. The stadium is located just a few blocks from Disneyland and offers a great view of the surrounding area.

4. Catch a show at the House of Blues

The House of Blues Anaheim is a great place to catch a live show. The venue features a variety of genres, from rock to blues.

There is also a Southern-inspired restaurant and bar on-site, making it the perfect place to grab a bite to eat before or after the show. Try the Voodoo Shrimp or the Smokehouse Platter.

5. Taste wines at Colony Wine Merchant

Anaheim is home to many great wineries, so go wine tasting and sample some of the best wines that the region has to offer.

Colony Wine Merchant has a comfy lounge where you can share wine accompanied by cheese plates. Visit on Wednesdays for discounted wine flights.

6. Go pedal boating through Yorba Regional Park

Take the romance to the waters by peddling in a swan-shaped pedal boat with Wheel Fun Rentals in Yorba Regional Park.

The park offers miles of hiking trails, as well as picnic areas where you can enjoy a packed lunch together. If you’re not interested in a pedal boat rental, you can rent a surrey instead to drive around in the park.

7. Indulge in a variety of food at the Anaheim Packing District

If you and your partner are foodies then the Anaheim Packing District is the best place to explore on a date. The Anaheim Packing House is a historic building that used to be a 1919 citrus processing plant that has been transformed into a food hall with over 40 different vendors.

8. Take a stroll through Muzeo

Admire the art and its history with your partner at Muzeo. Located in historic downtown Anaheim, Muzeo Museum and Cultural Center is an art museum with rotating exhibitions of both local and international artists.

You can also learn more about Anaheim’s history including Disney. There is also an event space that hosts a variety of events throughout the year.

9. Spend a summer night under the stars with Santana

Located in Pearson Park, the Amphitheatre features events and shows all summer long. Grab a spot and listen to SantanaWays, a Latin-and-Blues rock band that plays music from Santana.

The 1927 amphitheater is beautifully built with terra-cotta roof tiles, styled in Spanish-style architecture. Plus the concert is free!

10. Ice skate together at The Rinks

Ice skating with your loved one is a popular date idea and you’ve probably seen many tv shows and movies with these scenes.

Drive up to The Rinks, an indoor ice skating rink that offers public skate sessions as well as lessons for all levels of skaters. Skate together on an NHL-sized ice skating rink! If you’ve never ice skated before, take a beginner class together.

11. Feel like a kid again at Camelot Golfland

Sometimes you want to feel like a kid and maybe your date wants to feel the same too! Spend the whole day at Camelot Golfland which features 4 18-hole mini-golf courses, an arcade, laser tag, and more.

You can also race with your date at the Fastcar Raceway, or bump each other with Bumper Cars or Bumper Boats.

12. Compete in Cosmic Bowling at Concourse Bowling Center

Bowl in style at Concourse Bowling Center with LEDs, spatial black lights, and music. Their cosmic bowling event starts on Friday and goes all through Saturday and Sunday. Once you’re done with bowling, play a game of billiards or grab some food or drinks at their full-service bar.

13. Hold hands with chills and thrills at AMC Anaheim GardenWalk 6

There’s nothing like watching a scary movie with popcorn so take your date along to hold hands for those adrenaline-pumping scenes. Check out recent or upcoming thriller movies at AMC that can range from commercial successes to budget films.

14. Snuggle on the Pixar Pal-A-Round in Disney California Adventure

Ride the 160-ft Ferris wheel that has 24 Pixar-themed gondolas. You’ll see characters from Coco, Inside Out, The Incredibles and Finding Nemo painted on the gondolas.

This can be a great time to hold hands, cuddle, or even talk about how much you love each other.

Plus this wheel isn’t the same as any other wheel; there are 16 gondolas built into the interior of the wheel and these are far more thrilling as they sway inward and outward while rotating. This can be terrifying but also a one-of-a-kind experience.

15. Jump while glowing in the dark at Sky Zone Trampoline Park

A non-traditional date idea but definitely fun to do: go indoor trampoline jumping! You can go freestyle bouncing or play dodgeball but we recommend going when it’s dark for their GLOW event.

That’s when they turn down the lights and switch on blacklight, lasers, and music while you wear your glow-in-the-dark shirt and keep jumping.
