Plus, it’s exciting. And excitement is a great way to keep a relationship fresh and interesting. So whether you’re going on your first date or your 100th date, an adventure date is just what the counsellor called for!

Why Is Adventure Good For A Relationship?

As individuals, adventure feeds our souls. It’s important that all of us have a little adventure in our life.

But it’s also great for relationships!

When you go on an adventure, you’re generally out of your comfort zone. Your adrenaline is pumping and the endorphins (the body’s pleasure promoters) are flowing.

This excitement will not only become associated with the activity you’re doing, but also with the person you’re doing it with.

So if you’re on a date with your partner, you’ll associate the excitement you’re feeling with them.

In return, your connection will deepen and your relationship will be strengthened.

So what are some adventure dates that can help you fall deeper in love?

Adventure Ideas for Couples

The Amusement Park

If you’re really looking to get the adrenaline flowing and endorphins boosting, there’s no better place than the amusement park.

Rollercoasters naturally stimulate our adrenaline. As soon as you step onto a rollercoaster, your fight or flight responses are stimulated, releasing all types of hormones into your bloodstream.

You and your date will have a blast and get closer with every ride you share!

Rock Climbing

Even if you’re not afraid of heights, rock climbing just seems to know how to get your adrenaline pumping.

If you’re a beginner, start with some indoor rock climbing. But if you’re looking for something to do together regularly, outdoor rock climbing with an instructor might be a great activity to look forward to!

Dart Travel Date

Okay, so this isn’t really a “date”, but if you’re looking for somewhere to go for a few days or more, try this adventure challenge!

Buy yourself a map and some darts. Throw the dart. Wherever it lands is where you’ll fly off to!

Of course, you can amend this for closer to home too. You can use a world map, but you could also use a map of just your state. Throw the dart, make the drive, and explore the city you landed on!

Hot Air Balloon Ride

There’s nothing quite like the feeling of floating above the earth in a hot air balloon. Imagine standing in an open basket, surrounded by the stunning colors of the sunrise or sunset as you gently rise higher and higher into the sky.

Plus, the views from up above are absolutely breathtaking – you’ll be able to see for miles in every direction, taking in the beauty of the landscape below.

A hot air balloon date is truly an unforgettable experience that you and your partner will cherish for years to come.

Nothing like a super romantic adventurous date!

Trapeze Classes

If you feel like you were born to fly, head out for a trapeze class date! There’s lots of trapeze schools out there that offer single class options – from beginner to intermediate to pro, there’s class options out there for everyone.

You and your date will feel like superheroes as you fly through the sky – what crimes will you fight together!?

Skydiving

If you’re looking for a real thrill, book a skydiving date! Because let’s be honest, what’s more terrifying and thrilling than jumping out of a moving vehicle 10, 000 feet in the air?

Of course, we highly recommend that you ask your date before booking this one! If it’s not something they’re up for, you might be more hated than loved by the end.

Indoor Skydiving

If your date isn’t up for real skydiving, maybe you could try something a little more tame at the indoor skydiving course?

There are some cool places in larger cities where you can “skydive” indoors. Learn new tricks at each session, and make it a monthly thing!

Fun Adventurous Date Ideas

Sail A Boat

Sailing on the open water is an adventure like no other. There’s something undeniably romantic about feeling the wind in your hair and the waves beneath your feet as you glide through the water.

Whether you’re an experienced sailor or a complete novice, a sailing date is a great way to spend quality time with your partner while enjoying the great outdoors.

Imagine watching the sunset from the deck of a beautiful sailboat, sipping on champagne and soaking up the stunning views.

Or, you could spend the day exploring a secluded cove, swimming in crystal-clear waters and having a picnic on the beach.

No matter what you choose to do, a sailing date is sure to be an unforgettable and exhilarating experience that you’ll both treasure!

Skiing/Snowboarding/Tubing

If the weather is right, hit the slopes for skiing and snowboarding. If your date isn’t well rehearsed in the area, give them some lessons!

And if they’re too worried about falling, you could always try some good ol’ tubing. From ages 3 and up, everyone can have fun on a tube slide!

Sand Sledding

While we’re on the topic of sledding, did you know it doesn’t have to be freezing to hit the slopes?

Of course, you won’t be able to slide down the grass – but you can find an awesome sand hill!

Research some sand hills in your area, bring your sled, and do some summertime sledding/tubing down the hills.

Note: Please do your research and make sure the sand hills are appropriate for sledding. Sledding down any random sandhill can be dangerous, as the sand could slide. Always make sure the hill you are on has been designated for sledding first.

Watersports

Any time spent on the water is an adventure – and there’s so many different adventures to take.

There’s so many different fun things you can do on the water to get your adrenaline pumping.

Depending on where you live, you can look into more unique activities like diving, flyboarding, sea walking, shark diving, and even diving in a Roboshark!

Surfing

Surfing is the perfect adventure for thrill-seekers and beach-lovers alike, and it’s an especially fun activity to enjoy with a partner!

Imagine spending the day at the beach, learning to surf and laughing together as you try to stay upright on your boards. The rush of adrenaline and sense of accomplishment that come with catching your first wave are unbeatable.

And once you’ve had your fill of surfing, you can relax on the beach, watch the sunset, and enjoy a picnic together on the beach!

Jet Skiing

One of my favorite dates with my husband was Jetskiing in January! Of course that’s easy to do when you live in Southern California.

But, you can jet ski pretty much anywhere there’s a lake or ocean.

Spend the day exploring a secluded cove or racing across the waves with your partner by your side.

White Water Rafting

If you’ve never been white water rafting, you’ve gotta try it out. And if you love adventure, this is the date for you!

Find a great river that hosts river rafting and dive in. Ok, not literally, you’re suppose to try to stay ON the raft. Although it’s always fun to take a dip when you’re in a more calm spot.

Ziplining

You might not be able to find ziplining depending on where you live, but if you can, it’s a great adventurous activity.

It doesn’t matter where you zipline. Through the trees, over the water – it’s all adrenaline pumping!

Bungee Jumping

This one definitely isn’t for the weak of heart but if you and your date are up for it, there’s few things more thrilling than a good ol’ bungee jump.

Of course, we always recommend that you only do this activity if you are in excellent health. But if you can take the leap together, your 2 seconds of free falling will make you feel closer than ever!

Skinny Dipping

If you’re looking for something that doesn’t cost a penny, skinny dipping can be very thrilling!

Just the act of doing something out of the norm together will get your hearts pumping. Plus, it’s the perfect opportunity for a little risk-ay and sexy play too!

Make sure you’re alone and don’t have an audience around!

Spend the Night in a Haunted House

Think you’re brave? Prove it! Find the most haunted house in your area and spend the night (if you can).

If you wanted to amp up the date, you could also go get your palm read or head to a psychic.

Flyboarding

Want to try a one-of-a-kind adventurous date? Try Flyboarding. It’s a newer, exciting and unique adventure that is perfect for couples who love to have fun and try new things.

You’ll soaring through the air, propelled by jets of water, as you perform tricks and flips in the air…well, after a bit of practice.

The rush of adrenaline and sense of accomplishment that come with mastering each new move is unbeatable.

When you’re not in the air, you can relax on the shore and enjoy a picnic lunch or take in the beauty of your surroundings.

Stand Up Paddle Boarding

We’ve been Stand Up Paddle Boarding (SUP) three times now, and each time, I wish I did it more. Stand up paddle boarding is a relaxing and enjoyable activity that is perfect for couples who love to spend time on the water.

Plus, stand up paddle boarding is a great way to get a full-body workout and enjoy a beautiful day.

Helicopter Ride

Want a romantic and once-in-a-lifetime adventure date?! Take a helicopter ride over a beautiful place.

Whether it’s over lit up skyline at night, or flying over a lake or in the mountains, a helicopter ride will for sure be a date for the books!

Hot Springs Date

Another unique date would be to visit some natural hot springs. Some of them are a hike away, and some of them you can just drive right up to…we prefer the hike first!

Then hop on in to the hot springs and enjoy natures jacuzzi.

If you’re looking to get closer to your date, try one of these adventure dates above.

The adrenaline from the date will get your endorphins flowing, which will subsequently become associated with the person you’re with and bring the two of you closer than ever before.
