Things to do in Door County, Wisconsin – Sturgeon Bay

Sturgeon Bay is a quaint little county in Northern Wisconsin.  Definitely a change of pace from where I’m from, but boy does it have a lot to offer.

B had a fishing tourney there, and any time he’s off on an adventure, I always try to tag along.  I quickly found Sturgeon Bay has so many fun things to do that it would be so much better with a friend.

So I invited my friend who just so happens to be the wife of B’s fishing partner for the tournament.  We had a blast!  The downtown area was just as quaint as you’d imagine a small town to be.  Awesome Ma & Pop shops, a great candy store, and beautiful views of the bay.  But don’t let that quietness of downtown fool you, Sturgeon Bay knows how to do Summer right!

New Zealand Must Do’s

I never knew much about New Zealand, hadn’t heard much about it, and no one really talked about it much.  Until one of my friends stated that it was her ultimate travel destination, and we decided to go for her 30th birthday.  And I am so glad we did.  If I knew everything I now know about New Zealand before I went, I would have bumped this trip up on my vacations bucket list.  New Zealand has far exceeded my expectations, and I cannot wait to go back!

Our Dinner on the “Top of the World”

OK, 3rd top of the world now!  That’s right, we’re talking the Willis Tower (you may know it better as the Sears Tower…formerly the tallest building in the world) in Chicago.  I remember going to the top observation deck 12 years ago, when it was still Sears Tower.  Our youngest sister actually lost her very first tooth up there…it’s a fun family story for all of us.  So I was way excited to go again, now that they have the glass “ledge”.  That would’ve been enough excitement in itself, but did you know you can have a super romantic, (and fairly exclusive), dinner up there?! I had no idea that was a thing and jumped at the opportunity, as soon as I learned of Skydeck’s “Pie in the Sky” event.

Things they don’t tell you about Iceland

We just got back from a winter trip to Iceland, and man, what a fun trip we had.  We also only had 7 days (with flights), so we tried to get everything in that we could.  Lots of research went into planning our trip, and we decided to stick to the west and south ends of the island.  But you always learn way more being there than you do hearing about it, so we collected our info of  “Things No One Tells You About Iceland”, and wanted to share with you!
