If you’re wanting a relaxing, nature filled vacation in Lapland Finland, away from all the hustle and bustle of tourism, you have to check out Aurora Village.  It is an awesome place in Ivalo, Finland, that is perfect for a Northern Lights adventure.  Aurora Village has beautiful glass igloo cabins that make it a picture perfect place for your Aurora watching experience.  It feels like your own serene getaway, and is very quiet around the grounds, but still offers everything you would want during your beautiful Lapland adventure. 

If you were to imagine your perfect trip to Lapland in the winter, you would probably be imagining Northern Lights Village.  I found my dream hotel in Saariselka, Finland, and never wanted to leave.  Luckily for us, Northern Lights Village lived up to it’s name, and we saw a beautiful show of the Auroras. 

We finally had some time off to take an awesome trip together, so B and I were talking about different trips we could take, and where we wanted to go.  He threw out Finland, and I ran with it.  We had seen the Northern Lights in Iceland about a year and a half before, but if you remember, those were the boring lights.  We still wanted to see the magical green lights dancing in the sky.  We had a small taste on our flight over to Iceland, but it just made me want to see them even more.  So, we started planning our trip to Finland, and quickly decided we would spend our time in beautiful Lapland.      

Birthdays have always been a huge thing for me, and my family.  We actually love celebrating birthday months…because just celebrating one day, is obviously not enough.  Personally, I have always been really big on pillar birthdays as well.  I was SOOOO excited to turn 16!  Sweet 16 meant I got my drivers license, was a Jr in high school, and my whole life ahead of me.  18 of course, you become an adult.  21, you’re no longer in your teens, and there are barely any restrictions in life (besides renting a car, for the most part), and then there is 30.  

I had always thought of hot air balloons as something out of a movie.  There’s something adventurous, magical, romantic about hot air balloons.  On very rare occasions, while I was growing up, we would see hot air balloons flying above our city, early on some Sunday mornings on our way to church.  They were always magical and so fun to watch.  The beautiful colors and patterns, and the way they just appear on some random mornings, and not seen again for a while later, are what made them so interesting.  It was something I had put on my bucket list…something I wanted to do one time in my life.  However, it had always seemed like a far fetched dream.  One of those “maybe one day” dreams. 

When you think of Gatorland, you may this it’s strictly a zoo full of…gators of course! And you get to walk around looking at the different kinds, see the exhibits, maybe catch a gator show, and you’re out.I actually thought something along those lines as well…that is until I learned that Gatorland offers so much more!

Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Club and Lodge is our top recommendation of where to stay while we were checking out the Best in Orlando.  Whether you are a golf fan or not, this resort is a perfect place for luxury and relaxation.  From the moment you enter the gates (or the neighborhood really), you feel like you are in a whole other world than the hustle and bustle of the city.  The beautiful building with rich decor, amazing golf course, and all the amenities, are enough to call this a dream hotel.  It’s a perfect luxury getaway with a surprisingly affordable price.

We just got back from a 10-day Summer Vacation in Orlando, Florida.  Our family went almost 14 years ago, but our youngest sister was just 4 years old.  Our parents decided to take her back this year, after her high school graduation, and I am not on t pass up a trip, so I tagged along with one mission…to find the Best of Orlando.  And I think it was a huge success!
