Cheap and Maldives Holiday doesn’t exactly go together. Or so I thought.
When I first heard of Maldives, I thought “great honeymoon destination, way out of our budget!” The turquoise waters that are crystal clear and full of sea life looks like something out of a movie. Overwater bungalows that are so romantic but would definitely put a dent in your wallet…maybe Maldives, “one day”.
“Welcome to New York!….it’s been waiting for you!” The famous T-Swift song plays on our phones as we come up on NYC. I absolutely love New York! Every time I’m there, it’s always an exciting feeling being in the middle of all the hustle and bustle of the city that never sleeps.
A trip to our nations capital, Washington DC, is one that should be on every Americans list. But a day trip to Arlington, Virginia should be included on that trip as well. Arlington is a quick 15 minutes outside the city, and definitely worth the trip. The most famous spots are, Arlington National Cemetery and The Pentagon.
On our US History tour, we headed to Gettysburg for the day on our way to Philadelphia. We had been before and took a driving tour in our car with a guide who took us around the battlefields.

Oh Helsinki! B and I did an around the world trip from March till May. We started in Lapland Finland and LOVED every day spent there. Since we only had a few months to go around the world, we were on a tight schedule. We flew out of Helsinki but didn’t have time to hang out in the city. So I was way excited when we were invited back to enjoy a week in Helsinki during the midsummer celebration.
There are 2 types of islands you can visit when in Maldives. One is a Resort Island, and is probably the most known of the two… but, there’s another island you can visit that will make your stay much cheaper. Since about 10 years ago, the Maldivian government has allowed local islands to have guest houses so tourists can come to stay there, so that now gives us a budget friendly option for staying in Maldives.
ROBINSON Club Noonu is what you will find, if you look up “paradise” in the dictionary…with a beautiful picture of their all inclusive resort in Maldives. When you arrive on the island, they say “welcome to paradise” and they are not lying!
Our bucket list Lapland trip wasn’t quite complete without a stop in Inari. We enjoyed the ice castle in Kemi, the spectacular Auroras at Northern Lights Village, and relaxed at the beautiful Aurora Village, but we still had to experience some of the Finland Culture in Inari.
The last leg of our trip was at Hotel Inari. We were excited to get there, because it would be the furthest North we were traveling to, so we were looking forward to an awesome Aurora show. And it did not disappoint.
If you’re wanting a relaxing, nature filled vacation in Lapland Finland, away from all the hustle and bustle of tourism, you have to check out Aurora Village. It is an awesome place in Ivalo, Finland, that is perfect for a Northern Lights adventure. Aurora Village has beautiful glass igloo cabins that make it a picture perfect place for your Aurora watching experience. It feels like your own serene getaway, and is very quiet around the grounds, but still offers everything you would want during your beautiful Lapland adventure.
If you were to imagine your perfect trip to Lapland in the winter, you would probably be imagining Northern Lights Village. I found my dream hotel in Saariselka, Finland, and never wanted to leave. Luckily for us, Northern Lights Village lived up to it’s name, and we saw a beautiful show of the Auroras.
