Big Bear holds such a special place in my heart. It’s where we use to go to summer camps, where we would vacation as a family, and where you would head if you want some good snowboarding and skiing in the winters here in Southern California. There are so many things to do in Big Bear California in Summer and Winter!

It’s also the place we got to call home for an entire Summer recently and I fell even more in love with this quaint little town. 

Big Bear is mostly known for their winter snowy mountains where you can go ski and snowboard, but there are so many things to do in Big Bear in the Summer too!

I wouldn’t be able to choose which season I think is best in Big Bear because it is beautiful and perfect all year round, and there’s always something to do, no matter the weather.

Looking for an awesome place to honeymoon but don’t have a passport? You can still get that tropical beach vacation by heading to the Florida Keys. The Florida Keys is a chain of islands that’s about 125 miles long. The drive alone is something fun to add to your trip, and you’ll be able to stop and enjoy some of the islands on your tour. 

On one side of your drive, you’ll have the Atlantic Ocean, and on the other, you’ll see the Gulf of Mexico.

“Aruba, Jamaica, oooo I wanna take ya!”  This song was in my head our entire trip in Aruba, and there’s good reason why the Beach Boys sing about these beautiful islands.

B and I headed to our honeymoon in the Caribbean and started in Aruba. Aruba is an island off the coast of Venezuela, and is below the hurricane belt in the Caribbean Islands. We went at the end of September, which is considered low season, and one of the hottest times of the year there.

B and I had a fun week checking out East Texas and found the oldest town in Texas…Nacogdoches. And we also got to stay at the best Nacogdoches, Texas hotel… The Fredonia.

Where to stay in Nacogdoches 

The Fredonia Hotel is located just a mile and a half from Stephen F. Austin University, and minutes from other Nacogdoches attractions. 

The Fredonia Hotel is not like your typical hotel. This hotel is a beautiful boutique hotel that has the best interior design, amenities, and dining choices throughout the entire place. 

Camping in Angel Island State Park was such an awesome and unique experience. Camping on an island next to Alcatraz is not something you get to experience everyday. And our campout was even more exciting because we joined a hosted camping trip by REI, which means they took care of all the logistics for us.

We took a fun trip to East Texas and found a charming city called Tyler. Tyler, Texas is just a couple hours from Dallas, making this a perfect weekend getaway from Dallas, Texas.
