Your bridal shower should be a day that you remember forever. There’s no better feeling than being surrounded by your friends, your family, and nothing but love all around you – except for if you have all of that AND are celebrating your upcoming wedding!

text reads "bridal shower scavenger hunt" and shows a woman wearing white looking for something off in the distance.

So you want to make your bridal shower special. There’s lots of ways that you can do that – but we are always highly encouraging of bridal shower games! And one of our favorites? The classic – a scavenger hunt!

What is a Wedding Shower Scavenger Hunt?

A scavenger hunt is a game in which a group of teams or individuals battle each other to find a list of items. These items are generally pre-planned and listed on a sheet.

As players find each item, they can cross them off the list. The first person or team to find all of the items is the winner!

Scavenger hunts are super fun and can be themed towards your event.

For example, if you’re having a bachelorette party scavenger hunt, you might send your girls on a search to collect a man’s boxers or a phone number.

For a bridal hunt, you might have your girls search for things like a credit card or a specific type of jewelry.

There’s also lots of different versions of a scavenger hunt that you can do, but we’ll talk more about that later!

How to Host a Bridal Shower Scavenger Hunt

Start by deciding whether you’d like people to play individually or on teams. If you choose teams, divide your ladies up into teams that you think are fair (or let them choose their own).

You can divide your players in half to make teams, have each person play for themselves, or play in pairs or triples – it’s completely up to you!

Be sure to specify the boundaries of your hunt.

Will you stay in the house, can they go outside?

Or maybe you’re having a town wide hunt!

Tell them where they can go, and then set a timer for them to be back.

Finally, hand your teams the pre-made list of items that you’d like them to find (we’ll provide you with a sample list below).

As they find the items, they check them off the list. On your mark, get set, go! When the alarm goes off, the team with the most items on the list wins!

Where Should I Do My Bridal Scavenger Hunt?

Most people choose to host their bridal scavenger hunt just around the house. It makes things super simple, and most things on the list can easily be found within most homes.

But if you want to go a little bigger, you could do your backyard, or even around your entire town. It’s really up to you! You can even use a scavenger hunt template if you’re making your own.

If you don’t want people going through your house, you could do a smaller scavenger hunt like a purse hunt!

This type of hunt can be super fun, because you get to see what kind of strange goodies all of your friends hide in their purses!

Of course, you don’t expect your guests to buy everything on the list. So tell them to take a simple photo for proof instead!

If you’re going to do an around the town scavenger hunt, we might also recommend a photo hunt!

For this type of scavenger hunt, you aren’t just on the hunt for items, your guests are on the hunt to take photos around the town/city.

Here is an example of some things you might put on a bridal photo hunt list:

Bridal Photo Hunt List:

Take a photo:

  • With a random stranger
  • With someone wearing blue
  • With Two people kissing
  • With a stranger buying you a drink
  • With a bald man
  • Wearing a strangers hat
  • In the park
  • Sitting on a swing
  • With a heart
  • Wearing a stranger’s wedding ring
  • With another bride-to-be
  • With a person in uniform
  • With lipstick kissed on your cheek
  • At my favorite store
  • Eating a doughnut

Of course, some of these tasks are much harder than others. So if you wanted, you could also divide your list into a point system. For example, taking a picture in the park is pretty easy.

So you might give 1 point if you take a picture in the park. But getting someone to let you wear their wedding ring – that’s not an easy task! So you could make that a five pointer. And so on and so forth. The person with the most points at the end is the winner !

And remember – just have fun with it! Today’s your day – do whatever you want to do!
