Disney Date Night For Disney Lovers

Looking for tips on how to throw a Disney Date Night?

It’s the happiest place on Earth.

No, we’re not talking about Disneyland – we’re talking about your own home for a Disney date idea!

Disneyland is definitely one of the happiest places on the earth, but it shouldn’t be the happiest.

Your happy place should be your home. It’s where you’re most comfortable. It’s where you form most of your memories. And maybe it’s even the place where you will raise your children.

And let’s be real, as much as we’d all love to be at Disneyland every day, no one can afford that.

So why not turn home into your own personal fairy tale where Happily Ever Afters do come true. How? With a Disney Date Night!

Disney Date Night Ideas

There’s so many different ways that you can take a Disney Date night.

If you want, you can do a themed date night from your favorite Disney movie.

You could do a Lady and the Tramp night, a Cinderella night, a Beauty and the Beast night, a Frozen night – and well, you get the point. Pick your favorite Disney movie, then based your night around that.

Alternatively, you could do a general Disney Date night that incorporates themes from different movies.

For the sake of this date night here, we’re going to focus on a generalized Disney Date.

Here are some ideas for your Fairy Tale night:

Disney Dinner Date

How To Dress:

This is a fairy tale, so it only makes sense that you’ll dress up like a fairy tale princess (or prince).

Pick out an outfit that you don’t get to wear very often – something that makes you feel like royalty.

If you really wanted to go all out, you could buy yourself something new too – but that’s up to you!

The point is, if you want to live a fairy tale, it only makes sense that you dress it too! Don’t be afraid to get dressed up for this one!

The Music:

If it were our date, we’d have Disney music playing all through (just because it’s so amazing!).

Disney music is great for putting you in a good mood and getting you into the spirit of Disney.

So, if you’re like us, you can put your Disney playlist on and just karaoke all night long. Or, you can have a different playlist for each thing you do.

Here are some of our favorite playlists for you night:

Disney Cooking Playlist:

There’s actually an amazing Disney Playlist that you can download on Spotify that was specifically created for cooking. You can download it here.

It includes some of our favorite upbeat working songs like:

  • The Ratatouille Theme Song
  • The Collard Greens and Cornbread Strut (Soul)
  • Hot Dog! (Minnie Mouse)
  • Whistle While you Work (Snow White)
  • Be Our Guest (Beauty and the Beast)
  • And so much more!

Disney Dining Playlist

Over dinner, we suggest going the romantic route. Treat yourself to a nice candlelit Disney dinner with some soft Disney music.

Here are some of our favorite Disney tunes for romance:

  • Can you feel the love tonight (Lion King)
  • True Loves Kiss (Enchanted)
  • You’ve got a Friend in Me (Toy Story)
  • Love is an Open Door (Frozen)
  • Kiss the Girl (Little Mermaid)
  • A Whole New World (Aladdin)
  • Beauty and the Beast (Beauty and the Beast)
  • Bella Notte (Lady and the Tramp)

Of course, you’ll want to save one or two of these romantic tunes for your after dinner dance. Be sure your prince whisks you off your feet!). Or, if you are the prince, be sure you whisk your date off their feet!).

Disney Karaoke Playlist

Once Prince Charming has done some whisking, enjoy some good ol’ Disney Karaoke together.

Why? Because Disney makes the best music to sing along to!

There are so many good Disney songs that we simply can’t resist singing at the top of our lungs. Here are some of our favorites:

  • Let it Go (Frozen)
  • A Whole New World (Aladdin)
  • Hakuna Matata (Lion King)
  • I Just Can’t Wait to be King (Lion King)
  • Love is an Open Door (Frozen)
  • Bare Necessities (Jungle Book)
  • Be Our Guest (Beauty and the Beast)
  • When Will My Life Begin (Tangled)
  • Life is a Highway (Cars)
  • Poor Unfortunate Souls (Little Mermaid)

Disney Dinner

Okay, we’re talking about Disney Dinner music, but what about Disney Dinner?

For this, you can again do a general Disney dinner with multiple dishes from your favorite Disney movies, or you can choose a single theme.

For this dinner, we’re going all out romance.

Here are our 2 favorite romantic Disney Dinner Ideas:

Lady and the Tramp Spaghetti and Meatballs:

If you aren’t familiar with the famous Spaghetti and meatballs scene from Lady and the Tramp, we’re not sure where you’ve been your entire life.

One of the most popular and romantic movie scenes ever comes straight from a Disney movie – and yes, it’s about two dogs.

Anyway, the scene is simple – two dogs eating a spaghetti and meatball meal together.

As they’re eating the spaghetti, the soon realize they are both eating the same piece – and their lips come together for a big, saucy kiss.

If you haven’t re-enacted this scene at least once in your life – now is your time.

Beauty and the Beast

One of the most popular Disney dinners in a movie has to be Beauty and the Beast.

This dinner is really more about the setup than it is the food.

Get the candles, get the teapots, and of course, a covered rose for the middle of the table.

Unfortunately, Beauty and the Beast doesn’t really have a set dinner menu in the movie.

But you can get a lot of ideas from the “Be Our Guest” song that include beef ragu, pasta, and baguettes.

You could also include some Root Beer from “Gaston’s Tavern”.

Disney Movie Date Night

Disney Dinner & Movie Date

After your dinner and dance, it’s time to put on your comfies and curl up for your favorite Disney movies.

Will you go classic Disney? Sleeping Beauty? Lion King? Cinderella?

Or will you go new age Disney? Frozen? Up? Tangled?
You really can’t make a bad choice with Disney – they’re all good!

Disney Movie Marathon

Or plan a whole day for a Disney movie marathon! Watch the movies that have a series, like Toy Story, Cars, or Frozen. Fill up on all your favorite snacks, and veg out on the couch together.

Outdoor Movie Date

Take your Disney date outside and watch a movie on a projector. It’ll be like you have your own theater in your backyard. This is especially fun when you watch a movie that has space in it (hello, Star Wars!… Lightyear, Tomorrowland) or the outdoors (Jungle Book, The Lion King), or lights in the sky (looking at you, Tangled!).

Watch a Movie In A Different Room

Choose where you’ll watch your movie depending on what movie you’re watching. Ratatouille should be played in the Kitchen, Little Mermaid in the jacuzzi/bathtub, Toy Story in the bedroom, etc.

Disney World/Disneyland Date

Obviously if you live near or are traveling close to Southern California, or Orlando, Florida, you can head to the Disney parks!

Walk around looking at all the details around the park, dance on Main Street, eat your way through each “land”, watch the parades, and ride the attractions.

Enjoy A Disney Cruise

A little more than your average date night, but if you’re looking for your next vacation, and love Disney, you should definitely check out the Disney cruises.

Your entire trip will be Disney themed, and you’ll get to enjoy some really cool places while you’re at it!

Stay at A Disney Hotel

Staying at a Disney hotel can be a magical date idea for couples who love all things Disney. Waking up in a room with Disney-themed decor, surrounded by the sights and sounds of your favorite characters.

You can spend the day exploring the hotel grounds, taking a dip in the pool, and indulging in Disney-themed cuisine at the restaurants there.

In the evening, you can catch a movie at the hotel theater or take a romantic stroll through the hotel gardens.

Disney Trivia Night

Think you’re a bigger Disney fan than your partner? Well, let’s put it to the test! Try your hand at a game of Disney Trivia. We love this Disney/Pixar Trivia Game and this Princess Trivia Game.

Disney Cartoon Marathon

Bring out the old school Disney, and watch your old Saturday Morning Cartoons. So many of them are on Disney+ if you have that subscription. Or try to find some DVD’s of a series you use to love.

There are so many things you can do to have a Disney Date. Challenge yourself to try any of these date ideas and change it to a Disney theme!
