Quick Date Ideas For When You’re Short On Time

Share with your friends!

Want some fun quick date ideas? It’s great if you have time for a full date night (or two) each week, but for many of us that’s just not realistic.

Between working, keeping the house clean, making dinners, and running after children, we’re lucky if we can find time for ourselves let alone time for a date.

But if we want to keep our relationship healthy, it’s important that we make time for it. We might not have time for a full date night, but we can all make time for an hour.

Schedule a date right after work, on your lunch break, before bed – wherever you can fit it in. For those of you running short on time, here’s a few of our favorite dates that you can do in 1 hour or less:

Quick Date Night Ideas

Do A Workout

Your relationship requires time and effort. So does your body. So why not conquer two birds with one stone?

Make a lunch break date (or whatever free time you have) and head to the gym together.

Lift some weights, run on the treadmill, or play a game of squash – whatever it takes to get your body active!

Your relationship will benefit from the quality time and your body will thank you for the workout!

Enjoy Some Yoga

If you want to get a good workout in but want something a little lighter, you and your partner could practice yoga together.

A good yoga session takes less than an hour and you can do it on your own or in a class.

Plus, it offers so many benefits for your body and your mind.

Yoga can help you slow down, destress, and share a meaningful experience together.

Tackle A Puzzle

You might not be able to finish an entire puzzle over a lunch hour, but you can definitely get one started!

Working on a puzzle is a great way to spend some quality time, while at the same time allowing your mind to focus on something other than the stresses of life.

Plus, if you don’t finish it all, it will give you something to do on your next date too!

And it’s a fun date idea that’s free!

Make Dinner A Date

If you’re looking for a little after work date, why not do dinner? We all have to eat – so you might as well make it a date!

You can go out for dinner and save yourself dishes, or cook dinner at home together.

If you decide to cook at home, you can cook for each other or make it a competition!

Make it more romantic by adding some candles and maybe enjoying a bubble bath after.

Enjoy Some Dessert

After dinner (or lunch) there’s always time for a dessert date! Ice cream, cupcakes, apple pie – it doesn’t matter, it all makes for a cute and sweet date idea that you can do in under an hour.

Plus, dessert may actually be the key to your heart.

According to research, there’s a strong connection between taste and the feelings we associate with love.

So dessert might just be the answer to making a deeper connection!

Go For A Walk

One of the best things about going for a walk is that you can do it anywhere.

It doesn’t matter where you are – at work, at home, in the middle of the forest – you can literally go for a walk wherever you are.

And of course, walks are great for our overall health. Just 10 minutes of walking can reduce your stress and improve your health.

Do it with a date and reap even more benefits!

Quick Dates

Play A Game

Okay, so if you’re looking for a quick date idea, you might want to avoid games like Monopoly and Risk.

But there’s lots of games that you can play in under half an hour.

A game of cards, Yahtzee, Sorry, and many others are playable within the hour.

Coffee Date

Who can’t use a little bit of coffee in their life? Whether it’s morning, afternoon, or evening, coffee is always a good pick-me-up.

So for your date, head to your local coffee shop for some coffee and a good chat.

Use the time to talk about simple things in life like how your day is going, or use it to talk about more in-depth couples questions like what you see in the future for your relationship.

Netflix And Chill

You won’t be able to get a full movie within the hour, but there’s lots of TV shows out there that can be watched in less than 60 minutes.

Watch a crime documentary, laugh at your old favorite sitcoms, or learn something new on the Discovery Channel.

If what you’re watching is a series, you can binge your TV show over several dates!

Go Stargazing

If you want a romantic date, grab a blanket and go stargazing together in a secluded spot.

You can enjoy the beauty of the night sky together and try to spot shooting stars.

Make it even more special by bringing along a bottle of wine or hot chocolate to enjoy while stargazing. It allows for intimacy and conversation while enjoying the beauty of nature.

Picnic In The Park

You won’t be able to do anything too elaborate within the hour but a quick picnic is always a great date.

Pack the night before so you don’t have to worry about any of the details in the morning.

Maybe you’d like to pack some light sandwiches or a nice charcuterie board – whatever you like.

Then, bring your picnic with you so you can enjoy it during your down time.

Create A Vision Board

If you’re too busy for a full length date, it’s probably safe to say that you’re a pretty driven person.

And one thing that many successful people have in common is that they are able to envision their success.

One good way to do this is to create a vision board.

You can create your own vision board for your goals in the future, but you can also make one together that outlines your relationship goals.

Where do you want to be next year? Do you hope to buy a house together? Or go on a vacation? Whatever it is, put it on your vision board and watch it come to life!
