It’s important that you make time for your relationship, even when you’re tired. For nights like these, a nice relaxing date is just what the doctor called for. Here are some of our favorite relaxing dates for couples.

Relaxing Dates For Couples

Couples Massage

There are few things on this earth more relaxing than a massage, and the only effort that it takes is hopping in the car and driving to the spa.

Not only can massages help to reduce stress and increase relaxation, but it can also help to relieve aches, pains, and tension, improve circulation, lower heart rate and blood pressure, and increase your energy levels.

In terms of couples, massages release dopamine, serotonin, and oxytocin – all hormones that make us feel happy. This can help to encourage intimacy and increase feelings of affection towards your partner. Plus, it’s a great bonding experience and memory that you can share together.

At Home Spa

You don’t have to go to the spa to treat yourself to some pampering. Alternatively, you can make your own stay-at-home spa date!

How glitzy you go is completely up to you. You can plan a night as simple as a bubble bath, some bubbly, and a nice massage for each other.

Or you can up the ante with all of the add-ons like foot soaks, face masks, body scrubs, and so on and so forth.

Staycation

Why do most people go on vacation? Yes, we go for the palm trees and beaches, but we also go to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

But you don’t have to travel far to get away from it all. Find a hotel in a nearby town (or even your town) and book it for an overnight date night.

A stay at a local hotel is enough to get away from dishes, laundry, and all of the other household duties that can stress you out in day-to-day life. Pack, go, curl up in a housecoat, relax, and just enjoy each other’s company for the night.

Netflix and Chill

Perhaps this is obvious, but there’s few things more relaxing than Netflix and Chill.

Of course, it’s not just Netflix anymore.

There’s Disney Plus, Amazon, Hulu, YouTube, and so many more, which means that you’ll never run out of options to choose from.

You can even rent movies that are still in the theater nowadays. So if you need an excuse to stay in your jammies, a Netflix and Chill date is the perfect stay at home date option

Star Gazing

Nature is healing. Period. The more time we spend in nature, the more de-stressed, relaxed, and in touch we will feel. And when it comes to nature, there are few things more beautiful than a starry night sky.

So for this stargazing date, dress down, grab a cozy blanket and some pillows, and head outside to watch the night skies.

The best thing about this date is that you can do it anywhere. You can do it in your own backyard, or you can amp up the romance and head to the mountaintops.

If you want the ultimate stargazing experience, you can also book some time at a Night Sky Preserve or head to a nearby Observatory.

Yoga Retreat

If you and your partner are looking for a way to disconnect from the world, head on an overnight (or longer) yoga retreat together.

Yoga is a great way to get away from the world and reconnect with yourself and your partner.

Choose a retreat where you are surrounded by nature and can really rejoice in the world around you.

Nature itself is healing, and when combined with the practice of yoga you will leave the retreat feeling a sense of healing, relaxation, and a deeper connection with one another.

This is also a great hobby for couples.

Wine Tasting

If you’re looking for a daytime date, wine tasting can be a beautiful and relaxing date option. There are so many amazing things that come along with wine tasting.

Not only will your taste buds be in for a treat, but wineries are surrounded by beautiful scenery and acres of nature. No noise, no distractions – just you and your partner sipping on some bubbly and enjoying each other’s company.

If you don’t feel like doing a wine tour, you could also set up your own wine tasting at home. Grab a few bottles of wine that you’ve never tried for, combine them with a nice charcuterie board, and you’re ready to go!

Fine Dining

Cooking? Cleaning up dishes? There’s nothing relaxing about that! So tonight, you’re not going to do them!

Instead, you’re going to put on your best dress and head out for some fine dining for a romantic date idea.

Of course, we promised to keep these dates relaxing, so make sure you choose a restaurant establishment that suits your vibe.

May we recommend a nice dimly lit restaurant, a delicious buffet, or perhaps a restaurant with some live jazz music?

Puzzles!

Puzzles are a great option for couples that want to stay in. Grab some of your favorite snacks, put on some nice music, and pop out the puzzles. If you’re up for the challenge, try completing it without the picture!

Watch the Sunset Together

If you’re looking for some movie style romance, put on your hoodies, grab some blankets, and head outside to watch the sunset together. You can watch it in your own backyard, or head somewhere extra special like the pier, the beach, the top of a mountain, or somewhere that is meaningful in your relationship.
