Spring is finally here!! And we are bringing you some fun Spring Date Ideas.
While summer romance may be sizzling, we all learned that spring is the season for love from the movie Bambi. Remember Flower talking about love? In all honesty, spring is the perfect time to spend doing something romantic. The weather is nice, the flowers are in bloom, and everything is just beautiful. If you’re looking for spring date nights, you’ve come to the right place.
After a long and cold winter season, it’s important that you get out to enjoy some date nights or days with your significant other or spouse. After all, it’s a great way to get some fresh air and sunshine together and enjoy some happiness after being cooped up for a long winter season. It doesn’t matter what type of couple you are, each of these spring date ideas will give you a way to enjoy each other’s’ company no matter what your style or idea of date night is. Make a list and check each one off before spring is over! Is the weather not quite warm, and it still feels like winter? Check out our Winter Date Ideas!
Volunteer Together
This is the perfect way to enjoy a spring date without spending any money. Find a charity or local business that is passionate to the both of you and sign up to spend a day volunteering your time together.
Hit the Road
One of our favs! Plan a road trip together that can be a full or half day or even a full weekend long event. Sit down together to review your budget to see what type of road trip you can plan (how many days, how far you can go, if you’re camping or booking hotel rooms, etc.) and hit the road together for some adventures on the open road. Don’t forget your favorite tunes!
Plan a Picnic
A picnic is a wonderful way to spend some quality time together for a fun spring date idea. You can do this during the daytime hours with a bottle of your favorite wine and finger foods or in the evening while you stargaze wrapped up in blankets snuggled up together. Pair this together with some other date idea on our list for bonus fun!
There’s something incredibly romantic about going on a picnic. Drive out into the country and choose a beautiful area to spread out a blanket and enjoy a great meal together. It doesn’t have to be homemade. The food isn’t the star of the show. However, a meal that includes flavors of the season would be a welcome addition.
Outdoor Dining
Whether it’s at a restaurant or on your patio, eating outdoors during the warm spring evenings is so relaxing. If you’re at home, light some candles and pour a couple glasses of your favorite wine to enjoy as the meal finishes cooking.
Make a spring date plan to hit your favorite local restaurant to enjoy a meal together. Pick a restaurant that allows you to sit on their deck to get some fresh air while enjoying your favorite meal at a local restaurant. If you’re near the ocean, a romantic pier dinner is a must! If you’re in Chicago, check out this awesome romantic date on top of the Willis (Sears) Tower! It’s not technically outside, but you get the outside views!
Attend a Sporting Event
Spring brings the start of baseball season! Whether you hit a Major League game, or a hight school or college game, its sure to be a good time. Grab some tickets to attend a sporting event in your area as a fun spring date idea. This is the perfect way to get out of the house and enjoy something you both enjoy.
Attend a Concert
There’s nothing better than some music to get your body moving this spring. Plan to attend a concert during the spring season to see a band that you both enjoy. This is a great way to get outside, have some fun and hear a favorite band.
Flower Fields
“April Showers bring May Flowers!” Right? Springtime brings lots of beautiful flowers out, and lots of gardens open to the public during the spring. The California poppies are already amazing this year, and have been bringing lots of visitors from all around. Grab your camera and find the nearest public gardens or wildflower blooms near you!
Fishing
A fishing date will always be one of our go-to favorite dates. B is a fisherman, so it makes sense for us. We love to go out on his boat, and I get to relax and read while he gets to fish. We like to bring a picnic lunch and eat together on the water. Get out and get some sun and enjoy nature.
Visit the Zoo
Last, but not least, visit your local zoo. Spring is the perfect time because the weather isn’t too hot and, if you can manage to go during the week, you won’t be bombarded by kids.
Hiking
The weather is finally warming up enough to take a nice long hike. We love hiking to places that will give us a great view. It doesn’t have to be a long or difficult hike either. You can even take a nice walk in the park. Pack a lunch and enjoy the outdoors.
Hit the Farmer’s Market and Then Cook Together
Spring is the time of year when many farmers markets open up, so why not plan a spring date where you stroll hand in hand at the local farmers market? This is a fun way to pick up some healthy vegetables to cook a meal together later in the day too. There are so many wonderful foods to enjoy in the spring. Hit your local farmer’s market and create a menu using the delicious ingredients you find. Go home and spend the evening cooking together. You might even want to pick up a bottle of locally made wine to go with the meal.
Visit a National Park
Just like you, animals are so excited to be out in the warm weather. Visit a local national park and enjoy the views of nature. If you sit quietly, chances are you’ll see a lot of wildlife. The quiet reflection time spent with your partner can be a great bonding experience.
Take a Bike Ride
Bike rides have always been so romantic to me. And again, this one is great to pair with a picnic lunch in the park. Take your bikes around (or rent some) a beautiful park, the beach, or downtown for a nice relaxing day.
Enjoy a Movie Marathon
Of course, not all spring days are bright and sunny. There are days when you’ll be stuck indoors. That’s when a movie marathon comes in handy. You could even choose a theme and then make snacks that match the theme. For example, if you’re watching superhero movies, make snacks you used to love as a kid.
Dance/Play in the Rain
There are those April Showers again. But instead of hating that its raining (again) outside, try to make it a fun day. Grab your rain boots and rain coats and go out jumping and splashing in puddles, or dancing in the rain. Make sure its not a hair wash day before! 😉
If you do want to venture outdoors in the rain, make the most of it. Dancing in the rain, wrapped in the arms of your lover, can be very romantic and should be experienced by every couple at least once.
Here are even more Rainy Day Date Ideas for you to enjoy!
Lake/River/Ocean Day
Anywhere around water is our happy place. And after a long winter, we really miss it. Head down to your nearest lake, ocean, or river, and enjoy the day getting some sun by the water. It may still be a bit too cold to jump in or do any water activities, but there are lots of fun and relaxing things you can do on the shore.
Rent a Convertible and Go for a Drive
It’s totally cliché, but at the same time so romantic. This would be a great thing to do on the day you plan to have a picnic. Tie your hair down with a cute scarf and hit the open road.
Amusement Park
Springtime is a great time to visit an Amusement Park. It’s not too cold anymore, where you will be miserable standing in all the lines, and its not yet too busy where all the kids are out of school and at the park with you. Just skip the weeks of Spring Break and enjoy a less busy park together.
Attend an Outdoor Festival
Spring is also the best time to attend outdoor festivals. The weather isn’t too warm, so you can enjoy the festival whatever time of day it is.
Go Stargazing
One of the most romantic date night ideas is to go stargazing. Grab a few pillows and some blankets and cozy up together to go look at the stars. You can even download a stargazing app, so you know exactly which stars and constellations you are looking at. Even better…bring dessert!
There you have it, some fun spring date ideas for couples that will allow you two to enjoy some quality time together. It really doesn’t matter what you do on this, or perhaps you can use this list as a spring date bucket list to do everything listed here.
