Want some fun Indoor Date Ideas for when you want to stay inside?

Dinner and Movie, Netflix and Chill – these are both classic date ideas for a reason.

But let’s be realistic, after a while, they can get boring.

Couples need new and novel dates to keep their relationship alive and thriving.

And while adventure waits around every corner outside, we can’t always be outdoors. Whether it’s too cold, too rainy, or too hot, sometimes we need to bring our dates inside.

Indoor Date Ideas

But here’s the good news – there’s tons of indoor dates that you and your partner can enjoy. Here are 20 new and novel indoor date ideas to try this year!

Indoor Skating

It might not be icy enough outside, but that doesn’t mean you can’t go skating! Roller skating is a fun date for anyone that you can do year round at your local arena.

Whether you’re an advanced skater or have never skated a day in your life, skating is a great way to get active and enjoy a few laughs together.

Grab some hot cocoa and curl up in front of the fireplace after for some extra romance.

Couple Cook Off

You don’t have to leave home to have a fun date. If you and your partner enjoy cooking (or even if you don’t), you could do a couple cook-off at home.

This is a great way to enjoy some good food while at the same time bringing some friendly competition into the relationship.

If both of you need some help, you could also take a cooking class together.

Cooking classes are available online, and in most bigger cities in person.

Indoor Campout

Not the season for camping? Or maybe you just don’t enjoy peeing in the great outdoors.

That doesn’t mean you can’t have a campout!

Pull out the tent and set it up inside!

Get ready for a night of romance and ghost stories.

Oh – And s’mores? They can be done on the stove!

Take this backyard tent date and bring it into your living room!

Museum

You’re never too old to explore and learn something new. And where better to do that than at a museum?

Dinosaurs, ancient artifacts, mummies – museums have it all. Find your favorite exhibit at the museum and then come home and learn more about it on YouTube or History Channel.

Bowling

Bowling is another classic date that never really seems to get old. Plus, it’s a great way to check out each other’s butts without being too obvious about it!

Mini Golf

Mini golf courses aren’t just for the outdoors. In fact, some of the coolest courses are actually inside. Have you been glow mini-golfing yet?

If not, mini golf is definitely a date you’ll want to try out! Many mini-golf courses are often found in the same complex as bowling, so you could double up on dates if you wanted to.

Wine Tasting

So long as you’re of legal drinking age, wine tasting can make a great date for the two of you – or paired up with another couple.

Choose a single winery for a 1-2 hour date, or take a winery tour to make a full day of it.

Couples Yoga

There are so many benefits of yoga for the mind, body, and soul – but we already knew that.

But did you know that there’s actually benefits for couples too?

Take part in some couples yoga to learn how to connect with each other on a deeper level.

Life is busy and you deserve to treat yourself. There’s so many different things that you can do with a spa date.

Game Night

Remember when we were kids and game night was so exciting? Let’s bring that excitement back with a couples game night.

If regular game night doesn’t strike your fancy, you can spice up pretty much any game and give it a sexy twist!

Try do or drink for couples, or these truth or drink questions.
Of course truth or dare can be a good classic too…or mix it up with a game of never have I ever or put a finger down.

Concert

Favorite band or musician coming to town? Why not get dressed up and head for the stage!

Alternatively, you could check out some live music at a local dive bar, or head to a concert of a band you’ve never heard before. Maybe you’ll find a new favorite?

Ice Cream

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! No matter the weather – an ice cream date is always a good idea!

Try a new flavor at your local ice cream parlor, or create your own brilliant ice cream sundaes at home.

Craving some adventure in the great outdoors but can’t get it? Rock climbing brings outdoor adventures to the indoors!

Whether you’re overcoming your fear of heights together or learning to belay your partner, indoor rock climbing is a great way to build trust in your relationship.

If you’re looking for something unique to do with your partner, find your local Axe throwing center.

Escape Room

When you’re in the mood to entertain your mind, an escape room is a great place to do it.

An escape room is essentially exactly what it sounds like – a room you have 1 hour to escape from by solving a series of puzzles and clues.

Escape rooms are not only fun, but are a great way to test your problem solving skills.
You can even try these escape room puzzle ideas you can set up and play in your own home!

Psychic

Ever curious what your future holds? Whether you believe in them or not, it can always be fun to see what a psychic has to say.

We always recommend seeing a psychic in person, but nowadays there are lots of online readings too.

You can also visit  a medium (to connect with the other side) or a tarot reader to have your cards read.

Wine and Paint Night

You don’t have to go far to have your own wine and paint night.

Just buy your favorite bottle of wine (or try a new one), a canvas, and some paints, and see who can paint the best rendition of each other.

If you have the space, don’t be afraid to get messy with some body paint too!

Animal Cafe

Love animals? Love coffee? You can blend the two together at an animal cafe! Animal cafes are cute little coffee shops where pets are welcome.

Most often they are tailored to cats or dogs, but we’re sure there are other animal coffee shops out there too.

Some shops allow you to bring your own pets, while others feature animals that are up for adoption.

Karaoke Bar

If you and your partner love to sing, the karaoke bar is where you need to be!

Here you can spend an entire night enjoying karaoke together and sing the night away!

Maybe you’ll even get romantic and serenade your partner?

Adult Coloring

When was the last time you sat down and colored? Did you know that coloring can actually be therapeutic?

It’s a great way to relax your mind and focus purely on what you’re doing. Grab an adult coloring book, sit back, relax, and let the conversation flow.

So there you have it! You no longer have to fear rainy, cold, and wet days!…(but we do have fun rainy day date ideas too!)

There’s lots of things that you can do indoors on your date too.
