Looking for Casual Date Ideas?

Dating can be a lot of pressure – dressing to the nines, planning for romance, keeping the conversation strong. But dates don’t have to be so stressful.

text reads "casual date ideas" and shows a couple outside on a coffee date.

Sometimes we just want to go on a casual date where we can wear whatever we want and not have the pressure of finding topic after topic to chat about. If this sounds more appealing to you – we’ve got the answers.

Casual Date Ideas

Here are some casual, low pressure date ideas:

Go to the Aquarium

The Aquarium is a great place for a date at any stage of the game. You can literally wear anything you want – dress to the nines or throw on your comfiest clothes – no ones going to judge you because they’re going to be looking at the fish!

Plus, you don’t need to have topic after topic lined up – just read the info cubes and learn something new together.

Mini Golf

Mini golf makes for a great casual date. Firstly, no one is expecting you to dress up to go mini golfing.

Secondly, you’ll be busy doing something the entire time, so the pressure to fuel a conversation is kept minimal. Even if the conversation isn’t flowing, you can still have a good time.

Grab a Coffee

If you’re looking for some light conversation, coffee makes for a great, low pressure relaxing date. Not only will coffee help give you the added boost of confidence to keep the conversation flowing – but who doesn’t love a good coffee?

Choose a coffee shop that you frequent regularly to increase your comfort on the date. This could even be a great morning date.

Go to the Movies

The movies are a classic date idea for a reason – they are super low pressure. You literally don’t have to say a word to each other. Just show up, enjoy the movie, and then strike up a conversation about opinions afterwards.

There are tons of ways to do a movie date. If you’re up for it try a drive in movie date or a fun movie night at home.

Grab Drinks

We don’t always recommend the bar for a date idea, but when it comes to easy dates, this is a good one. The bar is a great place to grab a drink to ease any nerves, and to just enjoy whatever the night throws at you. This works great for a late night date as well.

Sporting Event

A sporting event is the last thing you need to worry about dressing up for. Plus, you and your date can bond over your favorite team. And let’s be real, who doesn’t love hot dogs and popcorn at the game?

Check out your favorite sports for couples to get into one together too.

Netflix and Chill

We obviously don’t recommend this date unless you’re very comfortable with someone. But if you and your date are at that level, Netflix and chill is the ultimate form of, well, chill!

This date is popular for a reason – there is literally no pressure. Dress in your pajamas, eat whatever you want, and just be yourselves!

Arcade

Ready to see how your date does with a little friendly competition? Head to the arcade for an arcade date night! The arcade is fun, casual, and cheap date idea where it’s really hard to have a bad time.

The Zoo

Everyone loves animals – and at the zoo you get animals plus so much more! The zoo pretty much requires casual dress (we definitely don’t recommend wearing heels here), and provides you and your date with a full day of entertainment.

Check out the animals, ride the trains, grab a bite – do it all for a full day casual zoo date

Farm Visit

Going to a farm can be a unique and fun experience for couples. It offers the opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy the peacefulness of nature. Couples can take a stroll through the farm, hand in hand, and enjoy the scenic views of the countryside.

They can also engage in various activities such as picking fresh produce, feeding the animals, gathering eggs from the chickens with a foraging apron, or even milking a cow. It can also be a great educational experience where couples can learn about sustainable farming practices and the importance of supporting local farmers.

Waterpark

Okay, let’s be honest – who can’t have fun at the waterpark? Even if you and your date don’t say a word to each other, you’ll still have fun riding the slides together.

And if things are going well, then you can head to the lazy river or hot tub for a good chat.

Chill Date Ideas

Drag Show

Ready to find out how open-minded your date is? There’s seriously few things we can think of that are funner and more entertaining than a drag show.
Even if drag isn’t your thing, anyone with an open mind can enjoy a good laugh at one of these shows.

Theme Park

Whether you like roller coasters or not, the theme park is a great place for a date. Roller Coasters are great for pumping the adrenaline (which is great for your date), but even if you don’t like coasters, there’s still so much to see and do.

The shows, the games, the food – you’ll never run out of things to do together at the theme park.

Picnic

The best thing about a picnic is that you can have one virtually anywhere, at any time of day.

Sunrise Picnic Date? Romantic. Brunch picnic? Romantic. Starlight picnic date? Super romantic. Park picnic? Indoor picnic? Mountain Top picnic? All romantic picnic dates

Carnival

There’s a reason that carnivals are always shown as first dates on television. They’re easy, casual, safe, and super romantic. First kiss at the top of the ferris wheel? Yes please!

Ice Cream at the Beach

We’d say just go for an ice cream date, but that could be a really short date. So go for ice cream near the beach and make it a beach date! Share some of your favorite flavors (so cute!) and then go for a walk along the shoreline.

Volunteer at the Dog Shelter

Dogs are a super good judge of character! So do a good deed while at the same time letting some cute pooches sniff out whether or not your date is a great fit for you.

You and your date can bond over your love of dogs, and you’ll both feel better for volunteering your time towards a good cause.

Campfire

Comfy pants. Oversize sweatshirts. And s’mores you say? We’re in!

Do this as an at home backyard tent date!

Workout

If you and your date both love to workout, why not do it together? Sharing passions together is a great way to bring yourselves closer. Plus, you’ll be getting healthy at the same time – it’s a win win!

This could be a fun competitive date together too.

Spa

A couples spa day is a great place to relax and unwind together. The best thing about a couples massage is that you can connect without saying a word.

Just hold hands and enjoy the massage. Then, when you’re finished, you can connect with words over a sauna or hot tub.

You can even do your own at home spa date night.

Wine Tasting

Okay, so you might need to get a little more dressed up for this one, but what better way to loosen up than with some delicious wine?

Try some of each, explore the wineries, and then take a bottle of your favorite to enjoy at home together. Because wine not?
